My name is Neerul (she/they). I’m a writer, editor, and rhetorician.

I find inspiration at downtown poetry slams, along flora-brimming running trails, and in Spotify’s Morning Indie Mix playlist.

Photo by my personal photographer, Suhani Gupta, in the Himalayas. Thanks, baby sis!

I graduated with degrees in Rhetoric & Writing and Psychology from The University of Texas in Austin, TX in May 2024.

Currently, I’m based in New York City working as a copywriting intern at a global healthcare agency.

Genres don’t limit me. I write critical analyses, promotional content, personal essays, and scientific articles. My writing is motivated by intersectional frameworks, and I prioritize the inclusion of race, gender, and (dis)ability in all my works.

School of Design and Creative Technologies

Nested within the UT College of Fine Arts, SDCT fuses innovative design and emerging technology. I write stories about faculty and student achievements and cover neat events.

SPARK Magazine

UT’s premier multimedia publication about everything art, culture, and fashion. Find my diary entries turned personal essays in the Life and Culture columns. If I’m not writing, I’m editing as the Assistant Web Editor.

The Daily Texan

The official newspaper of UT. My knack for concision thrives in their twice-weekly newsletter.

Texas Orator

A multi-partisan, peer-reviewed political publication at UT. I’m the Managing Editor for Publicity and a former editor.

Taken in Venice, Italy by my forever travel buddy, Nina Mbonu.

Travel has been transformative for me. For years, I aspired to be a clinical psychologist. Three months after full-time travel in the summer of 2023, I saturated my time in writing.

Now in the summer of 2024, I write for healthcare campaigns full-time. Only for a few months, though. A year abroad awaits me soon.
